  • Cadillac Division in trouble

I have been saying it for years, Cadillac just doesn't understand that they are going in the wrong direction. Smaller engines and smaller cars is not what people want from a Cadillac.
Now the ATS, The XTS and the ELR are all scheduled for extinction shortly after their unveiling due to poor sales. In fact three of the top ten cars not to buy that are scheduled to shortly be disconncontinued are Cadillacs. When will they start listening to us loyal consumers of what we want in a Cadillac.? they are hoping people are holding off buying the ATS because the CTS6 is coming out shortly (lol good luck with that one ), however that may just get sales of people trading their old leased CTS in for the new CTS. I predict its fall off the grid shortly thereafter as well. The ATS was a stupid decision and never had a chance of bringing newbies over to the Cadillac lineup. The XTS would have sold well if they had just stuck a V8 engine in it. I remember people were chomping at the bit when they first unveiled the prototype at the Chicago Auto Show to purchase one when they said it would have a available v8. Then they pumped them out with a go cart of an engine for a four door sedan that will get as tired as Granny walking up a steep incline after 50,000 miles.

So thats the REAL reason why they are trying to peddle that new ATS frame platform on other models like the 6th gen after they spent all that money producing it. they need to absorb the tooling costs somehow.

Buick is right behind them. You don't need Buick AND Cadillac both. Should have kept Pontiac, IMO.

The changes you see in Cadillac come from their new focus of competing in the luxury market overseas. As such you'll see smaller cars that get better fuel economy but the build quality and technology will continue to improve.

Don't think Buick is going anywhere seeing how well they are selling in China but I'd rather have Pontiac around than Buick. The days of big cadillacs with V8s are long gone. With increasingly stricter MPG restrictions coming in the future automakers have to adjust accordingly with smaller cars that are more fuel efficient. Plus I doubt everyone wants a v8 in every car they drive, even though I do lol.

True, they are trying to compete with the European imports and that's the real problem the way I see it. THEY CAN'T COMPETE in that market in the US. US sales are a small part of GM now.True Cadillac people have been buying Cadillacs for one reason, they don't want a smaller version European import. And yes I know they sold a boat load of those CTS models, but those people that bought them are not Cadillac loyal customers, They in fact are jumping around beteen Audi, BMW, Mercedes, & Lexus . I am not asking for a big V8 in all Cadillacs, just give me a v8 in ONE four door sedan flagship car. LOL PLEASE. Audi still makes them, Mercedes still makes them. And I don't see them getting rid of their V8 models anytime soon. if you want to rack up miles on an engine and keep the car a long time, there is nothing like a V8.
they just have TOO many models in the Cadillac lineup, the bankruptcy lesson didn't teach them or did they forget already, they need to scale back
