the Illinois Senate voted to approve 70 mph on expressways in Illinois and overrides Quin's veto of the bill. Now it goes to the full House for a vote to override his veto as well.

YEAH REALLY! your misinformed my friend, get in the car and start driving and tell me you can maintain that 70. Most areas dropp to 65 on the signs if their is a seagull crossing. that's just a chart for the federal govt to get their free money for roads, but in actuality it's real different.Last edited by Lawdog; 11-21-2014, 07:53 PM.

The vetoed-then-overridden bill is targeting the toll roads in IL as a whole. I suspect that it will be like the current bill where it states "where prudent" etc.

I can confirm that map is not completely accurate. Specifically the little green part on I-94 north of the Waukegan Toll Plaza. From the Wisconsin border to just north of the toll plaza the speed limit is only 65 MPH, not 70. And that's just a few mile stretch. Where the tollway starts (a couple miles before the toll plaza), it drops to 55 MPH.
