the Illinois Senate voted to approve 70 mph on expressways in Illinois and overrides Quin's veto of the bill. Now it goes to the full House for a vote to override his veto as well.

I'm a bit confused by the article, though. The interstate/tollway speed limit is already 70 mph outside of cook and the collar counties, so I assume that it's referring to the chicagoland area... poor article writing.

No. It's more rural areas and it's not 70 now it's 65 in most areas that are REALLY RURAL. but we may be getting 70 in those that are 65 and in some more rural-semi rural areas but don't plan on seeing 70 between Schaumburg and downtown, lol never going to happen.Originally posted by Toasty View PostComment

YEAH REALLY! your misinformed my friend, get in the car and start driving and tell me you can maintain that 70. I'm not sure what it is you mean. The interstate speed limit is 70, and has been since the 1st of the year. It affects all of the Interstate highways, outside of Cook county and the collar counties, just like I said before. I can confirm that map is not completely accurate. Specifically the little green part on I-94 north of the Waukegan Toll Plaza. From the Wisconsin border to just north of the toll plaza the speed limit is only 65 MPH, not 70. And that's just a few mile stretch. Where the tollway starts (a couple miles before the toll plaza), it drops to 55 MPH.Comment
