  • Joliet NASCAR Race tomorrow.

I have access to free Nationwide Tickets for the race tomorrow night. I was thinking it would be a good stop to make on the way back from Volo Camaro Show but will be driving my Camaro. For those of you that have gone to the race before, is there a safe place to park my car? That's what I'm worried about the most.

    Any ideas?

All the parking is in grass, but it is pretty secure.
I've driven my Camaro and Corvette there before without any issues.

Gotta watch though, the terrain can be very bumpy.

    I'll be there tomorrow too!

Thanks Octane! I'll want to park in lot D so I can get back on 55 South which is a small lot. I'll be getting there late too so hopefully they'll have some spaces left. Still nervous about my car being in the lot.

There will be plenty of parking spots. When they sell out there is plenty of parking. I'm sure for a Nationwide race there will be plenty of open spots.

Tomorrow's crowd will be light, probably less than half capacity, so you won't have a problem finding parking.

ARCA race and Truck race is a darn good show under the lights!

Be very careful parking. The ground is bumpy everywhere!! They park you close and people could care less what you're driving. Just be cautious!!

I'll probably be arriving very close to race start time so I'm thinking that may work in my favor so when I do park, maybe I can be selective. Still evaluating the risk.

You may be cautious, but that doesn't mean the people next to you will be, especially if they park the cars tight together. If the people on either side of you have a few too many beers, then the odds are even worse lol.

I just discovered some white paint on my left rear panel from someone that apparently did not care. Straight through to the bare metal. Be careful.

If you haven't been that way in a while, they have completely changed Arsenal Road. Traffic is really bad north and south due to the construction. Be cautious thru there too as I hear about accidents thru there just about everyday.

My brother and I are on our way up to Volo tonight. We drove up I-39 to I-80 just to miss all the construction there that you're talking about. I don't think I'm going to the race, it's not worth taking the chance.
