  • Did you name your car?

    Silly question.

I keep wanting to give my car a name, especially now that it is heavily modded, but every time I bring that subject up my darn kids, and the guys at work, laugh at me.

How do you guys feel about naming a car?

"IF" I did, I was thinking of either "Black Dragon", or "Sinister Intent".
Are those dumb or am I just a nerd? Curious what you kids think.

(No, I won't be offended if you think both are dopey, or the entire idea of naming a car is dumb.)

Car is not quite done yet, but this picture at NicKey gives a general idea what the car will look like.

It does look sinister. I like the vents on the hood. I've been kicking around the idea of buying a vent for a 2014 and have it installed on my 2013.

I wanted to do that as well, but I was afraid I was going to lose the bowtie inlay underneath the hood. That's why I chose the Hex Vents. Pete installed them, and did a great job.

A good friend of mine who owns a WRX does this and has tried to get me to follow suit for years. I can't bring myself to do it, lol! The last car I owned that had a name was "Godzilla" and it was a Berlinetta Camaro that I owned through High School.

My Camaro is the first car I have named... Eve. (tie into Wall-E's EVE character)

I don't mind names at all, though I tend to like ones more that give the car personality.

I do like the direction of the Dragon name though... maybe there's a name of a dragon from a book/movie/comic that you know/like? Found this list - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_dragons now who's the nerdy one?

I am hesitating because I am afraid of losing my stripes. I am kind of hoping it can be installed and leave the stripes in place.

I think the hood center section on the '14's might be larger

I saw on a Facebook Camaro site where someone put the '14 vent on his '13. The dealership did the work for $600. I'm trying to find it but can't remember which one it was.

I would think you would lose the stripes for sure with that center vent. You should have Pete put on his hood, and then he can do the stripes too.

Here is a car with stripes and the Showstopper hood.

If you do the '14 vent on a '10-13, you should also go with the V6, or, ZL1 fascia.

to me, that one doesn't quite look right without the hood being modified - the 14 hood has a recessed area to make the front of the insert flush --

anywhoo maybe you should name your car first, then decide what vents to use.... (aaaand, we're back on topic!)

I see what you are saying. The '14 sits in a hole that make the top of the vent level with the hood. If you put in on a '13 it will be sticking up a little higher than the hood.
