Yes, you should have a harness under the trunk mat where the seats are. The sub box plugs right to it.

Oh, okay. Kicker used to be a good brand, but not sure if they are still considered one of the better companies. Price is very similar to the two 10" unit, it's just side mounted.

The sub would be blocking the opening. The seat should still fold, though. That's one of the main benefits of the side mount box.

I've only had to use the pass-through once, and that was for a gigantic 6' trophy. I'm not worried about blocking it but it would be nice to still be able to put the seat down if needed. I like the looks of the rear facing sub better and think it would sound better as well. Still something to think about.

I have the GM box. It works great. Easy to install.
