  • Might have to let the camaro go... again.

So I'll try to make a long story short.

My wife has been busting her tail to get promoted with AT&T. There is a huge push at that company for promoting those that have degrees. They dont care what the degree is in, just as long as you have a paper showing you went to school.

Well my wife's momentum was haulted due to having a discussion with her higher ups. And basically they told her she his a brick wall, unless she goes back to school for her degree.

Now between the 3 vehicles we have... the camaro is the only one we both cant drive. My wife is not the best at driving stick shift.

Plus i have had my fun with her and have achieved a lot of my goals that i was reaching for. But it might be time to pull the plug.

My wife going back to school will be a huge financial burden on us, but I dont want to be selfish and not allow her to go because i want to keep my car. So I am faced with a decision where i might have to return my car to its stock form and sell her off. I will be sitting down with my wife tonight to discuss this as in the long term of things, it will have more benefits in the end.

But we will see as i crunch numbers and look at budgets and see what i can pull off. So we shall see.

Sorry to hear this. Does AT&T pay for, or partially pay for schooling? Melissa went back to school and her company pays 100% as long as she get's an A or B in the class. She's on an accelerated program and will finish in July. If not, check out to see if you qualify for some government funding as well. Suck's that companies want that piece of paper more than what the person can do. That's the same situation Melissa is in.

AT&T will reimburse 80% for anything over a C average. Plus you have to pass the first semester to get initial reimbursement as well. And my concern is that we won't qualify for and loans because of 1) our combined income and 2) the amount of loans we have out there now (3 cars and a mortgage).

So i don't want my car to be the reason she can't better herself like she wants.

That really is too bad. I certainly hope you can fine a way to send Navil to school and build the Camaro. I truly wanted to see it at the strip. Futures come first though. Let's stay in touch!

I will one day have my built camaro. So I am not too worried. But regardless I will still be around. And I'll be at the track too ;-) just cuz I lose mine doesn't mean I can't still help out the others.

Sucks, but I commend you for looking out for your other half! If things work out with the degree, you will be back in a Camaro in no time, and will be better off in the long run! Hope it all works out.

If GM takes notes on the new Mustang reviews they may not stray too far from the current body style. I have high hopes they do the right thing.

me too. They are doing right things with the new C7. So i hope they are smart enough to carry that onto the next gen camaro too

Please dont, no need to feel bad. Its part of life. I am blessed with my house, my family, and my friends. I have plenty of time to get a another camaro back in the future...

and in the meantime i have a rocket ship of a jeep to drive too.

plus i can get my taste of camaros hear anytime i need. I now have personal goals to get you and freddy into the 10's. and get jim under 11.5... and PSJ into the 11's before he goes crazy. haha

Things are up in the air for me. I need surgery on my right shoulder and if I have it it'll be at least a 6 month recovery process. I'm talkin' pins, screws, cartilage getting reattached, maybe the bicep, then casts, slings, PT, and pain. I'm sure the pain meds will be sweet but maybe late July I can start racing.

Or I wait until this coming winter for surgery. Decisions, decisions, decisions....
