  • Winter Bliss!

Hope this makes everyone feel better about the crappy weather.

Melissa and I made it out of town on Saturday just before the storm hit. Flew into Tampa and drove down to Siesta Key for 5 days. We arrived later than planned due to delayed flight. Hertz didn't have my full size car ready so I said I'll take a Camaro instead for the same price. They said don't have any Camaro's left but I do have something else that I'll give you.

    I said I guess a Corvette will do. ;-)

Yesterday it was 80 degrees, sunny and a great day to put the top down.

We thought we'd share some warmth with y'all to hopefully help with the current conditions in Illinois. The cold front that have Illinois it's brutal temps is making its way down here. Low tonight is 39 with a high tomorrow of 58. Supposed to warm back up on Wednesday. We're returning home on Thursday and will deal with the 10" of snow piled up at home. Still glad we're missing the negative temps.

Enjoy the beach. We landed @ ORD LAST NIGHT @ 5:30PM from Jacksonville FL. Two hours late and bounce landed on the snow . So not fun, very ruff landing. Hope your trip home is better.

Sorry Cam74 I miss-read your post. Yeah, that's not the kind of flight home I want to experience. We were late getting out of Bloomington, therefore late getting out of O'Hare. It started snowing as we taxied out to the runway so we got out just in time.

Man, that's just not fair! Just so long as you bring some of that back with you! Though the worst thing I heard this morning is that even though the polar vortex is leaving here by the weekend, it could come back in a few weeks!

Thanks for taunting us , If I recall correctly when I was on the board I think I added an Article to the bylaws,
"any member who intentionally taunts the website with their vacation pics of fun in the sun, must assist, with their significant other, to wax the cars at the first official meet of all such other members who had to read said post and weep. i have to go back and reread them and see if the provision is still there! enjoy

Dude! you are in my hood. We have been to Siesta Key a few times. I love the beach there. It could be 95 degrees and the sand is always cool. Like powder. We have a condo in Tarpon Springs....about a hour north of Siesta Key. Enjoy!!!

We've had one nice day here with sunny skies and 80. Yesterday and this morning it's in the 30's and we have no heat in our beach unit. Sunny yesterday but barely made it into the 50's. I know that sounds warm but it's not down here and we were cold. Today is our last day and it's 45 right now with a high of 65 and clouds all day.

While the weather has been less than ideal, we have enjoyed our time down here. Might make this an every year getaway.

                          Randy, what comes after 3?

Every time I drove to Sarasota to see my parents, I brought back a few bags of sand. Just like talcum powder :-)
