There needs to be a space between letters and numbers.
Sorry, I probably wasn't clear on what I said. This is what I meant by mixing...GEN5SS. In otherwords, you can't have a number mixed in with letters. Yours is RC 73 so you're good.

Yeah, I'm liking the GEN 5 as well. I would like to stay with RT 66 plates.

One more for ya to consider. Kind of goes along Rudy's suggestion.

                Can't get a "Y" after "FRK" nor a "W" after "BO".

I think you are on the right track with where you are headed on the suggestions. However when I first saw this post your touching story on why you are making this awesome car even better came to mind. If you could incorporate that story or even a saying that strikes a cord, you'd have quite a cool plate that would also tell a story. Some suggestions if you'd want to consider that...

Great idea, and Rick has also suggested tying it back to my Dad. I'll start thinking about how to possibly work something in. Your suggestions above are great ones and I appreciate it, but I can't intermix letters and numbers. Not sure why Illinois won't allow this, but they won't. Just another thing to love about living here.

Indiana has restricted their plates too. I wanted 1BAD SS and they said no because people would think 1 bad Ass......I said WTF?!?!?

I got "OLMAN 5" to work.
                      "FATHER 5"
                      "BIGCHOP"
                      "DA HEAD"
                      "Senior 5"

All of those were accepted by the system and only people in the know would understand the plate.
