Yep, FFF, Sharpie, and Reggie are all doing well. Thanks for your thoughts, calls, and texts yesterday. Power was out all day yesterday and my cell phone died early evening. Let me tell you, it's wierd to loose all connection to the outside world. Makes you think, hmmm. Anyhow, power came back on at midnight last night. I spent most of the day/night babysitting my sump pump making sure my man cave didn't get flooded.
I'm sure you've seen footage of Washington, Pekin areas that were hit by the tornado. A couple people I work with live in that area and very fortunate because their houses are still standing. They will be without power until at least Wednesday. A few houses in my subdivision had roof damage, trees toppled over, but not bad considering. Like Rick said, I had some siding damage and that was it.
Melissa and Reggie (the dog) went to the basement and I hung around upstairs for a bit. The wind was unreal and I heard a roar sound, like a train. I looked out my patio doors and my gas grille which is a decent size and locked down slid about 20 feet across my deck. I decided something is coming and I joined Melissa and Reggie in the basement. It lasted for about 5 minutes and then was gone, turned calm and sunny. It rearranged our patio furniture, grille, etc. but miraculously it was all still there. My neighbors came out of their houses looking around like what was that!
Some areas of our town had baseball size hail. A guy I talked to at the airport said his neighbor had 3 cars destroyed. I'm guessing that is what damaged our siding. The two cars we have setting out were okay though.
So we're good now, power back on, sump pumps running, everything back in place and I flew out early this morning to Dallas for work. Again, thanks for the concern. Wish Washington faired better. Not a good sight.
Thanks for checking in brother... I'm sure I speak for all of us here, that we are glad you came out of it mostly unscaved. We'll try to catch up with you Saturday. What time you going to be there?
