Some are real grabbed from an actual game, others are replicas. This is how you tell the difference...

Baseballs make for a good example. Some are white, others are dirty.

Clean white baseballs are not game used. Teams offer the players before every contest boxes of baseballs (a dozen each box) to do with as they please. Locker rooms are filled with them and so is the outside hallway. Anyone can grab one or call the stadium and purchase one.

Real game used baseballs are brown (dirty) in color because the umpires rub a special mud compound on them for grip. To get one you have to either catch a foul ball, or a home run. The 4 filthy baseballs in the pic I grabbed, all foul. 1 from Cleveland, 3 are from old Comiskey.

However all 7 of those baseballs are Official Rawlings Major League Baseballs made by hand with real leather to specs. 5 ounces and 108 stitches.

Fake NFL footballs are made of fake leather and are dry with yellowish laces.

Real NFL footballs used in games are real leather, which is heavily oiled, with white laces, and smell like a dead pig. Before every game the referees inspect each football for quality, footballs rejected by the officials are used for practice before each game and are piled up in Bears Alley (the tunnel they use to run out onto the field). To get one you must be a thief. You haven't lived until you've smuggled a football out of Soldiers Field in your pants.

NFL policy does not allow fans to receive real game used Footballs.

The 2 Gilberts are Rugby replicas. I just love throwing them at people since they are lighter but bigger than NFL Footballs and they freaking hurt!

The Wilson soccer ball is official NCAA.

The Spalding ABA basketball is obviously a replica.

Next objective is my own Wilson!

I've tried to get the real thing used in the movie Castaway, my cousin Jesse works in casting in Hollywood and used to work for John Hughes, but the actual movie Wilsons are insanely expensive. EX-CEO of Fedex has one from the film for $18,750.

FedEx rates are so high, they can buy volley balls for $18,750? I'd put that into 750hp mods. :-)

Shoot... $18,000 will net you an easy 1000whp with all drive line mods needed.

sent from my galaxy s3. that would explain the errors.
