Xello is definitely right on this one, asked any married guy and they'll agree.

Agree. No way I would sell my car to pay for a wedding. Now if you're just tired of paying for it and want something cheaper to drive. Go for it. I did sell my Fiero GT to buy a house. Wouldn't do it for a wedding though and my wife wouldn't let me do it to pay for a wedding either. Think long and hard about it. There are several people on here that sold their car only to regret it later.

Its not the wedding that makes me want to sell... its the want for a Nova... but I would love both lol the wedding would just come before the nova

The important thing is the marriage & the vows, not the wedding

Now if you can't afford it anymore, or it just doesn't have the same appeal to you that it did, that's a different story.

Too many people spend way too much money on these weddings only to end up regretting it later on, especially when you needed that money for other things. Be smart on what you really NEED for the Wedding and more importantly who you really want to invite, most of the time you won't see half the people ever again anyway. Keep the numbers down on the reception and keep it simple , it will make the first several years of your married life a little easier, you may be able to afford to actually have some fun.

I agree with Bill. Just be happy that you've found your soulmate because we all know there are plenty of people out there still searching only to grow old, mean and alone because they can't find that special person. Go with your heart and if thats not the right answer...you can always use the money you get as gifts to purchase a Nova that the both of you can enjoy !!!

I personally say to unload the car, I did and haven't looked back.... but, keep in mind losses on value, tax if you gain money, what you'd be getting in terms of cost offsets, etc. Sometimes it only appears you'd save money, when in actuality it would cost more.

Does your wedding need to cost as much as it is?

                    What does your fiancé think?

Its not the wedding that is the cost... its just I would pay for it before I got the nova... and I would never buy a v6 Camaro... unless it was old and getting an ls

I'm kind of in the process of doing the same as what you are talking about. I'm getting out of the camaro. Paying off some debt and then will buy a cheaper toy.

It's not that you need to sell the camaro to pay for the wedding but it would make it easier or you will be able to afford that extra unneeded touch that would make your fiance happy. Knowing you would be giving up one toy for another toy in the future makes the whole idea worth it.

I LOVE the camaro and no one is taking me serious when I say I'm getting rid of it. It's just the right thing to do in the current situation.

I don't think you need our opinions, you know what to do (whether that is keep it or sell it).

                            I totally agree with steveo.

Everyone knows that I was forced into a similuar situation a couple years back.

No one ever thought I would get rid of my camaro ever. I waited 3 years for it and she is my baby. Especially with all the blood, sweat, and tears that I have put into her.

But reality is that both mused, Randy, and steveo are still younger. And we have a lot of time ahead of us, and when you take a step back and look at the whole picture. It is just a car at the end of the day.

I had to sacrifice her for the better sake of our financial situation and economy reasons as well. There will be more and better opportunities down the road for bigger and better things.

Yes he mentioned the wedding but like me, the real reason this is being brougt up is life happened. When he got the car it was all him, no other responsibilities. Now he's accepting those new events in his life and will have to adjust accordingly.

So speaking from experience... you gotta do what's best for you at the end of the day, because if it will better your situation now. Then who knows, you can pull a jeremy and buy a camaro back or even get a Z28 down the road. Just do what is best for you.
