Reason I'm asking is, my nephew was at my house yesterday for my Dads funeral. He goes to school at University of Chicago. He bought his car (Mazda 3) with the windows already tinted. His car was parked in the street and he came out with a ticket on his window from the CPD for tinted windows. He said the ticket was marked NO TINT as if any tint on the windows is not allowed. My nephew doesn't know if the tint is the legal limit for Illinois because he didn't do the tinting. My suggestion to him was to take it to a shop and have it measured to see what the tint percentage was, thus the reason for this post asking for a shop he could take it to. I don't know how they measure the amount of tint but would think they have to open the door to do that. If so, not possible for the CPD on my nephews car because it was parked.
The fine is $250. Freaking ridiculous!sigpic

Sorry to hear about his ticket but happy to hear he's a UOC student = ) I was just downtown on Thursday for a meeting by Cellular Field I had a parking permit....and low & behold from Chicago's finest parking patrol....a ticket for no front plate it was only $65 but just so aggravating.
