So maybe you've seen (well hopefully!) the thread for the SSZL575 Memorial Poker Run, but are wondering what's all involved-
Here's some info, post up if you've got questions! (If you don't, and even if you do, get yourself over to the event thread and sign up!)
What do you do on a poker run? Participants travel between checkpoints, drawing a playing card at each one, with a minimum of 5 stops, and maximum of 7 per hand.
What's the objective? The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run.
Is there a time limit? The event has a time limit, but there is no difference if you reach the final stop first or last.
When you get to the final stop, you'll turn in your 5 card hands and your discards, if you've stopped at more than 5 stops. - your hands will be tabulated and compared to the other participants.
Here's an example of how it would work -
$25 for each hand of cards (5 total for playable hand, can draw 7 and make the best 5)
$20 for each additional hand.
Additional card may be bought at the final stop for $5 a card per hand.
Example:
I play 3 hands pay $65.00. I get to the final stop and in one of my hands I have: Ace, Ace, Ace, Two of spades, three of spades, four of spades, five of spades.
I get to the last stop and I really need that ace or 5 of spades. I purchase a card for $5 and draw an ace... I win
Ties will be broken by single card pull at the last stop.
