  • Bodywork advice?

Got my slightly used (6,000 miles) 2011 Camaro last September. Couldn't wrap my head around why someone would trade the car in but whatever. So I was at a body shop I've used before having them look at a bubble forming in one of the gills on the left side and low and behold, the owner recognizes some "tight paint." The LR fender looks as if it was re-painted before and now with the bubble forming, it looks like they did a bad job.

Any ideas on how much this should cost to fix and what method should be used to fix this bubble in the gill?

There a couple of sponsors here that you might want to contact. Countryside Custom in Warrenville is one and Showstoppers in St. Charles. Sounds like rusting from underneath possibly or an air pocket coming through, either way it will have to be repainted.

Its really going to depend on what's happening under the paint. Anything from rust, to bad prep, or anything in between, really. Hard to say what it will cost from an outsiders view. I would suggest that you have your body shop guy give you an estimate, and if you are comfortable with it, let him fix it. If you feel the estimate is high, or you have concerns on how he's going to fix it, hit up one of the sponsors mentioned above.
