The only time I've ever been pulled over for speeding is July 4th timeframe.
This past July 4th was no exception. I was going... about 70% too fast on I-294 near Hinsdale. The officer asked me to slow it down; they were on detail and the enforcement was up. This is the first time I've been pulled over in the Camaro. I was coming up around a curve by myself in the left lane doing maybe 12MPH faster than most other people were. He was outside of his car and got me with LIDAR (instant on). I was exposed; trucks were blocking my view until it was too late. This is why I never normally hog the left lane - this is precisely why I keep to center lanes. Just in case!
I knew better. Fortunately, I didn't get a ticket or written warning or anything. I wasn't paying attention to my speed because I had my mother with me and two dogs in a pet carrier on the back seat - I was distracted somewhat. When I saw him, I looked at my speedometer and quickly realized how much the car got away from me. Camaros creep up their speed quite quickly!
Suffice it to say, I slowed it down! I started using the cruise contol...

The only speeding ticket I ever got was July 3rd, 2007 in Florissant, MO. I was doing 84 in what I thought was a 70. The speed limit was 60. Officer was nice; he wrote the ticket for 77 (anything more than 20 over in Missouri can get your car impounded - and it's a Class B Misdemeanor to boot). My one and only speeding ticket; I would like to keep it that way!Comment
