Got up early and the weather looked really questionable. I was almost ready to call it off and Melissa said, lets go. So we went and man am I glad we did.
The car show is held in the Hooters and Hardees parking lots. Got to meet 3 other 5th Geners from Camaro5 and Kathie63 (not Kathy63) from C5G. The rain held off all day until award time, but no way I'm leaving now.
I walked away with two awards and an invitation to the "Best Of The Best" car show held in October down in Brighton, Illinois. The Brighton Car Show is by invitation only by the individuals that put on the show. They go to several shows in several surrounding States and give out these invitations. Last year, they said they had 260 cars from seven different states. I think I have the numbers correct, if not, I'm close. Anyhow, I felt very privileged to be given this invitation.
First, my car was chosen for "MDA & CAMPERS CHOICE". Very fortunate and happy to be chosen out of every car in the show.
Second, my car won "BEST OF SHOW - MODIFIED" class. Man this trophy is unbelievable! I had to put the rear seat down and it still barely fit in the car. What a great honor because there were alot of nice cars there. Because of the rain, I didn't get to take a picture until we got back home.

So what a great day, yes? Well, that's not all. I also sold my chrome wheels and tires and the guy picked them up this evening. Now I have more mod money! Gave him a C5G card and told him about the club. Hopefully he'll show up on here. He lives in Elizabeth, Illinois.
Great day indeed with Melissa!sigpic

Oh wow freddie that is a really cool trophy! Your car is what I call a "crowd pleaser" so it's only proper they award you with trophies.
However you realize per Chicago 5th Gen rules whenever a club member receives an award you must buy the club drinks to honor your new prestige! It's the way of things.
