  • lets talk drivetrain loss

Ok so I have been thinking about this since Saturday.

If you look at the white board with the dyno numbers from the FLP event. you will see that most manual SS's are about 30hp higher then my A6.

The LS3 is rated at 426 from the factory and the L99 is rated at 400 from the factory.

with the difference of 26 from the factory the drivetrain loss between the A6 and M6 is very minimal.

is this common on newer cars?

FLP has a unique feature to their dyno. They have had a few LS3 engines on the engine dyno and then transplanted into the chassis and dynoed on that same dyno you were on... The average powertrain loss was 130 HP... thank you for playing!
Racing is my life, everything else is just minor details.

Lol I would say that at stock power levels the loss will be similiar like what you see. But once you start getting into higher power levels you will see the spread of drivetrain loss.

Yes, newer autos don't drain as much as lets say a turbo400 trans. But its only noticeable higher up

sent from my galaxy s3. that would explain the errors.
