OK so today my amp went out on my sound system.

And as most of you know I do love it... but it adds a lot of weight and is not very track friendly.

Well I've been throwing around the idea of leaving it out but I just can't decide if I want to take it out for good for the weight savings or keep it and get the amp repaired

How often are you actually racing vs. Driving around and cruising.

If you love it, keep it and just deal with the hassle of removing it when you do race.

Or remove yourq back seats like I did today to counter the weight. Lol

sent from my galaxy s3. that would explain the errors.

I've thought about a sound system as well. I have never raced the camaro but still want to keep the pig as light as possible.

How easy is it to remove the box?

If it does not make it go faster or stop better you don't need it!

And yet most folks on here do not understand this philosophy.

          T.
The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my Track next fix.

We may be the minority, but, there are those of us that don't consider racing to be our Camaro's main purpose. ;-)

It takes me like an hour to pull it out and probably hour and a half to put it back in

And I drive my car more than I race it... 51000 miles in the 2.5 years I've had it

Idk I can't decide lol I like it being lighter but I use it more than I race it

But I've also been throwing around the idea of selling it all and putting it towards cam, heads, and torque convertor

Thinking the same thing! Maybe instead of a large box. Two single boxes on the sides and amp in the spare compartment.

Also how much does your setup weigh? Think of it as just having a passenger.

Well the 2 batteries weigh 70 pounds each then 2 65 pound subs, the box, the amp, and wiring and then a 270 amp salt is my system

If anyone want it let me know I can install it for the right price lol

Although taking all that weight off is a plus especially for the track if you drive it as much as you do keep the system or switch to a lighter set up. Might as well enjoy your time doing everyday driving with the system. I will be putting up my system for sale in a few weeks once I get the time to tweak a little wiring issue that shouldn't be a hard fix. PM or text me if interested.
