This was by where I work in Glendale Heights. Closed on way into the business park. The other entrance has ponds on either side of the street that are almost over their banks. If they go, no worky tomorrow!
Basement is good at home. Like Freddie, I have 3 pumps as well. May have to replace one after this is all said and done though. It's pretty old and I'm sure it took an ass kicking in the last 24 hours. Sorry for those of you who had water. But, at least you are safe!

I'm dry for now as long as my sump pump doesn't give out, then I would be in trouble.

Steve, that looks like Dickens and Bernice in Glen Ellyn Countryside. In fact that house that is on the NE corner there is where Steve at Countryside Custom grew up, hense the name. And I live about 4 blocks north of there. Spent today running around to get floor squeegees in Carol Stream and then for 50 sump pumps in Melrose Park, long day of driving for Len's Ace but we needed them for our customers.

turned out okay, I got lucky with all the upgrades we did two years ago on the backup.
number one thing on my mind this week| BUY A GENERATOR and EXTRA PUMP and leave it on the shelve!
If I can make a suggestion.
I just bought a new generator 3 weeks ago. Menards sells Generac Generators.
I bought their 3750 watt propane powered generator.
It will run 8-9 hours on a 20 pound tank of propane. Propane never goes bad.

I have a Coleman gasoline powered generator also but you have to keep fresh gas in it or keep it empty till you need it. I got tired of rotating 5 gallon gas cans. I would empty the gas cans into my truck every 2-3 months and refill them with fresh gas.

Even my lawnmower and weed eater are propane powered.

Not necessarily.. one of my favorite and closest teachers from Notre Dame passed away Monday night, so dealing with that has been really hard. Also the other catashtrophic events around the country haven't helped much in getting over it. It has just been a very rough & messed up week
