Hello all.. I have a question for you guys. We do not have a front plate installed on our Camaro & my dad bought this Show N Go manual slide out front plate bracket for underneath the front bumper to mount the front plate, but I really do not want to drill into the bumper or even mount it in the first place. I would rather not install anything at all & just keep it clean. Have any of you had any issues with cops & being pulled over for no front plate?

June 1st of this year will be a total of 4 years with my camaro. And i have never been bothered for it. Knock on wood.

you will only get bothered for one of two reasons
1) you got pulled over for something else
2) the cop is in a bad mood.
two years ago (almost to do the date as i was out for st patricks day) I drove my G8 with long tubes, illegally tinted windows and no front plate thru a DUI check point in elmhurst around 1am. Cops waved me past.
a few months later I drove past Lombards PD as a cop was just getting on his shift and he popped me for my window tints and gave me a warning on the front plate. Was able to get out of the ticket if I removed the illegal tint. So I had the illegal tint removed and installed 35% all around.
a few months later, i drove past strats at 11pm on a Saturday. There happened to be about 5 cops parked a few lots down. One decided to pull me over for my window tint. After arguing with him for 10-15 minutes he finally tested it and it read 33% which was "close enough" for him. So he decided to find a reason to ticket me and walked around the car and saw no front plate.2012 45th AE 2SS

I've heard of a few people getting tickets in the city from the traffic cameras . I only put my plate on when driving in Wisconsin. LolsigpicDa Bears TatmanComment

I did....read my Catch & Release thread. no tix just a "talking too" however I can't find my front plate so I did go to the DMV to order another plate to have, it was $6 and they gave me a yellow ugly temp plate that I was told I needed to put in place of my back plate.....ain't gonna happen Im just gonna keep it handy & if I get stopped again I just say I didnt get a chance to put it on.Originally posted by rnikolich9 View PostComment

I don't have much choice. Local PD drives the parking lot at work. I flipped the stock bracket, drilled extra holes in the bracket and secured with zip ties. Doesn't look as bad as stock location, and is easily removed

18 months, no plate, no hassles! I do have my front plate in the glovebox though. So, if something were to happen, I could hopefully talk my way out of a ticket... Plus a good driving record should help. But, lets remember, I am a (younger) middle aged guy... Unfortunately, you are young, and less likely to get the same respect as many of us (Younger) middle aged people! Sad but true my friend!2012 VR 1LT RS

I haven't had a problem and I've had the Camaro for almost two years. din't have one om my last car either, but I keep it in the trunk just in case. Can always say you just got a new bumper put on, and have just not re mounted it yet.sigpic
