Roadtrip to Dallas for Thanksgiving

Need a break from Chicagoland, and we are planning on driving the car to Dallas and going to the Cowboys/Redskins game on Thanksgiving day. Leaving Tuesday afternoon and we were wondering if anyone knows a good route or interesting/scenic locations to check out on the way.

Make sure you drive through Arkansas on your way. It's pretty. You can also stop at Crater of Diamonds and dig for gems in an active open field mine.
