So I had the day off, so finally had time to get my flowmaster exhaust installed on my car. G-man had offered a great price, but he's really far from me, so checked to see if I could get it done closer to home (minooka, near Joliet).
A friend recommended Oxbo muffler in new lennox. Sounded good. Called first thing this morning. I think they should change their name to oxNO muffler. I explained what I needed done, indicating I wanted to know a good time to come by. The guy tells me to just come by and drop it off, we'll let you know later when we can do it. I explained I don't have a way to get back from the shop, his response, "well you now have a lot of time to figure that out." Complete TERD.
Next, I call modern-muscle in oswego. Heard a lot of good things about them. Here's a business tip from someone that is a business man, answer your phone, and if you have an answering machine, call people back! It was 9:10, i get a recording, our normal business hours are 9-5 Tues to Sat.....leave a message, we'll call back." Its 4:15 right now, still no call back. Based on these two shops, the economy must have turned the corner, good news, we'll all be getting our home values back soon!
I finally gave up with local guys, called deerfield tire. Wow were they friendly on the phone, and even friendlier when I got there. I was out the door in an hour and a half. It was worth the 130 mi round trip to go there, and I will go there again. Thanks G-Man and deerfield tire, you're A+ in my book.
