Clear bra

Can anyone give me some guidance and/or opinions about getting a clear bra applied? I know "Demon" has it on his ZL1.

I have heard that 3M tends to yellow. I have also read good things about XPel. Also, looking for an installer.

I have a guy. He uses 3m or expel. Whatever you want. He recently did a members two camaros using expel. And that stuff is amazing. Shoot me a pm for his info.

What's the typical cost for install on the front end? Also, anyone put this on a white car? Seems like it would be easy to see it on white. Don't know though.

I just had one put on on my summit white.. Its 3M.. I know its there and I see the lines but its my car, lol. I'll take pics in a bit and post here..

Ok, I'm outside with my car installing the Auxlliary guages and stoped to takes these pics.. To be honest I cant get a pic to show the lines. In the sun or shade. I'll be @ showstoppers open house tho. Are you coming?

Umbra in Schaumburg installed mine for approx $500. Including rear view mirrors and behind each wheel well. You can defiantly see it but who cares its doing it's job. Bty it's 3m

I have XPel on mine. I got it done while I was living in Kansas City at Midwest Tint in Overland Park, KS. They did so great with it - they put the mattematerial on the stripes and did glossy standard material on the paint. Karmit ended up on a billboard to advertise for them. I posted a thread on Camaro5 titled "Midwest Tinting - Overland Park, KS - WOW!" I would link to it but I don't know what the spam policies are - so look for it yourself. I posted a full review. Almost two years and 20,000 miles later, and the material still looks brand new.

It's partially material - but remember - the art in this is by the installer. Do not settle for less than the best. I cannot recommend anyone around here, yet - as I do not know the installers' market. I got hundreds of references in Kansas City before I made my decision on shop. Ultimately, I ended up going to the place where all of the Lamborghini Murcielagos get their work done. I did not leave disappointed. $1000 for all of the work - done up the nose 24" back, and including other areas such as the door cups (where your fingernails might scratch), mirrors, etc, including 36% ceramic tint. Lifetime shop warranty on the work; lifetime on the tint - 7 years on the XPel material.

You get what you pay for. Go with a perfectionist installer!

I used Clear Guard for Cars out of Hoffman Estates last year for my front bumper it was about $340. He did my car and a friend of mines camaro. Excellent work and 3M products, according to a person I know at 3M it is all new material now and will not yellow. I used Design Shielding. He uses xpel and comes to your house. It was the same price as everyone else wanted, but he came to me. Did an excellent job. I have two cars done by him.
