Lake house / cabin?

Ok I have been spending a couple weeks now looking for a lake house or cabin. I want to stay within 3 hour drive.

I am the best man in my cousins wedding and he REALLY wants his bachelor party to be a weekend get away in a cabin / lake house / beach house. He wants to see water from the place.

I can't seem to find a place that will rent for a weekend! It seems like most people only rent weekly.

Alcohol will be involved so an illinois state park wont work.

Any suggestions?

Crystal Lake in Lodi Wisconsin. They have a house on the lake, or trailers on the lake, or Urts (Big round funky looking hut type things) on the beach in front of the lake. They have a bar, store and resturant as well. It's about 2 and a half hours North, between Madison and Wisc. Dells. The dells and ho chunk casino are about a half hour drive. Great place. Try around the Alleghan Michigan area. Miner Lake ,Gun Lake. Three hr ride. Been to gun lake very nice and miner lake I have some property on. There is at least 4 more lakes in that area.

I would say that you would absolutely have a blast. And like I said, if the weather is crappy, you are close to other things that could keep you busy. Fishing is actually awesome on that lake, and there are plenty of bars and resturants in Prairie Du Sac, about 10 minutes away. I would suggest Fitz's also. Can't tell you how to get there, but I am sure that someone who works at the resort could tell you. Great HADDOCK!!! And there's a bar too. You can't go wrong. I have had a trailer there for about 12 years. Ironically enough, I am leaving there next week and moving it closer, in Twin Lakes.

I used to go up to Gun Lake with a buddy of mine and his family when we were kids. Pretty cool. Never made the connection to Allegan, though. I've been up there several times in recent years as we have a customer up there.

Just found out that the lake is no wake due to the height of the water. So you wouldn't be able to water ski or tube. Just fishing or casual cruising. They also rent pontoons, should you want to party on the water. That's all.

I read the no wake thing but that's ok none of us have a boat. Renting a pontoon for some fishing will most likely happen.
