So today, my first time ever going down to Chicago on my own. Long story on why I was there, I tend to stay away from the city because I hate it with every fiber in my body. Anyways I parked at one of the pay and park things paid for my 2 hours, expired, went back added 2 more hours. I show up at my car at 2:29pm and what do I see on my window... A nice envelope with a present inside.

I was 6 min away from not getting a ticket.. awesome.

I've not once ever heard a good, valid excuse --- other than revenue and being able to point a beam at it -- for front plates.. Every time I've listened to it, I just want to vomit.

I love the fact that they outright have the revenue right there on the ticket..

Maybe if those bothering with plate tickets would spend more time trying to catch murders, rapists, thieves and politicians.. The city would be safer.

Are all of you getting them while parked in lots? I've parked in the loop several times, had valet, etc and never had an issue.. Cops usually give me a thumbs up on the car or don't even acknowledge my existence.

That address shows near Loyola.. Was it a Campus PD person?

I got a ticket in the mail, after having my car valeted ( at Ditkas ). The same night in another lot, had my center caps stolen off a vw Jetta no less.

Wiki, I was near Loyola yes, just up past their book shops. I don't think it was a Campus because while walking to the car I passes a cop on foot with a gun looking thing, which I imagine is what he used to print the ticket. I just think all of this is such bull... Absolutely hate the city....

i see you were in my district. sorry to see you got a ticket but it wasn't an officer. one of those revenue guys/gals that walk or ride bikes according to the unit # on the ticket. they have gotten me before as well as those damn red light cameras.

I just bought one of the Jac-Fab brackets. Haven't put it on yet, but it's better than drilling holes in the bumper.

I've been thinking about the SLP version. No holes and comes off quickly. I read that it works with their front splitter so might work with other brands.

you can contest of course but i never have. i've got hit by meter maids and i just pay. the red light camera at devon and kedzie has got me twice. the second time i contested and got the 100 fine overturned.

I have the Jacfab plate mount on my car and like it. I think pics in my album should show it.

I went plateless on my front end for several months and was tired of worrying about getting a ticket. I have terrible luck.
