i was actually on the waiting list at my local dealer. But after doing more research i realized that you can purchase a brand new SS and put about a little over $10,000 into it and you will have an car that will out perform the ZL1 for a total of about $15,000 less.

So i passed up the chance of owning one because my car already has more power and i am saving a ton of money.

but the car does look good.

You're mostly right, but I'm not sure if a good coilover setup could outperform the MRC.

          I totally agree with that.

The way i looked at it is i probably will never get my car to a road course. As is the case for most of us on here. So i can send a couple hundred on springs which will give it a more aggressive stance and keep it good for daily driving. and a few more hundred on upgraded bushings and sway bars and i am set.

still well under $55,000 total spendings by a long shot.

but i still feel that for all the higher priced sports cars, if you are going to be spending $55,000+ on a car, this is DEFINITELY is the best bang for your buck.

I think if your planning on keeping the thing for a long long time, ie 20 years garage kept summer use only on weekends. It may be one of th last big muscle cars to be delivered stock with anything near that setup. These EPA standards are going to kill things I think!

Yup... though we'll see how the warranty coverage for race events actually works out, the extra $$ may be worth the outcome

That may not be true, the 2013 gt500 with 650hp somehow managed to avoid the gas guzzler tax so there may be some hope. Hopefully GM will learn something.

Too bad I can never afford a ZL1 and Toasty I don't think hotwheels count. But then again I don't have the official rule book. lol

daily driving in the city of Chicago or suburbs with our streets, and a stiffer suspension could mean more repairs down the road over time. That stuff is hard on a car on our streets, lol

what is a warranty again? mine was officially gone about 2 weeks after i owned my car.

if it breaks that means replace it with something better

i can't wait to see the ZL1 on the roads though, its a beautiful machine.

As much as I would love to have a ZL1, daily driving would not be an option for that thing, I don't think.

I secured the 2nd of two allocations from a dealer several long months ago. This has been a great exercise in patience...order info, pricing info, who is getting allocations, build timeline, testing and then the big 3 week hold on the ZL1's which were built and ready for shipping. Now GM is right on top of the 2013 MY and the big question is how many 2012 are going to be built.

Aledgedly, might know something for sure - maybe - in the next few days.

                              Waiting...waiting...waiting...

Might have a nice - low mile - 2010 SS for sale.
