Now GM is right on top of the 2013 MY and the big question is how many 2012 are going to be built.

Aledgedly, might know something for sure - maybe - in the next few days.

    Waiting...waiting...waiting...

Might have a nice - low mile - 2010 SS for sale.
congrats to you! I remember all to well on the patience needed. I initially put my deposit down on my 2010 Camaro in August if 2006. didn't receive the car until June 1st 2009. But it is all worth it.

I wish you the best of luck. Keep us all posted. And I am calling a lane with you when you get it. Curious to see where we will stack up.

Thanks. I am beginning to think that I need all of the wishes of luck that I can get. Having said that, I can't imagine going through the "wait" that you did.

I am not one of those "I want it...I need now!!" people. But, it does build a lot character watching the process and progress - or lack of.

There was a post on C5 about a ZL1 sitting on the lot. After looking at it and seeing the buys posts its sitting at castle chevy on roosevelt rd. I drove past and saw it yesterday.

Nothing on there site about it so I am assuming it was ordered for someone. SOMEONE GO CARD IT!

I definitely would love to own a ZL1 one day. I love my SS so much that in time I'd love to get a ZL1 as a garage queen that only makes it out on the nicest days.

But at this time having 2 cars is not at all a priority and I'm saving up to get other stuff that my wife can use as well!

My long term plan is to buy a 2-3 year old used one once I find out the best option/color combo that GM produces for the ZL1. I really want a nice stand-out blue. But If the next gen is slower due to EPA regulations, or the blue coming out this year turns out to be the best blue made for the ZL1, I'll purchase based on things like that!

Yes the ZL1 is sweet and the styling is way better than the SS, but I wonder how the next Camaro will stack-up with the upcoming DI V8 engine?!

Quite frankly, I always thought it a bit odd, that the V6 has the leading technology engine, and the V8 is the laggard!

After driving a ZL1 at Spring Mountain a couple weeks ago, I DEFINITELY want one!
Such an awesome car. So much technology in that car!

IMO it is not possible to upgrade an SS to a ZL1 equivalent without spending a ton more than the price difference. Sure you maybe can get your power level up there, but there's so much more to it than that.
Heck, I have the best aftermarket coilovers money can buy on my SS (Pedders Xa Supercar Coilovers) and they are not even in the same zip code as Magnetic Ride Control.

I'm not exactly sure about when exactly the 2012/2013 cutoff is, or what orders are in that will be 2012 or 2013.
But I do know that no more 2012s are being pulled for production.

Did you get to do any 1/4 mile runs? Saw Hennessey ran the car to 12.5 stock and 12.1 on a tire. Not exactly thrilling for 60 grand, but break in period might push some better times.

No 1/4 mile runs, we were on a 1.5 mile road course.

I was actually pleasantly surprised at how hard they let us push the cars.

ZL1's are very cool looking for sure, but the stock performance does not blow me away.
