  • Interesting find.

We were installing a ZL1 diffuser and came across this on the brackets that are supplied for the installation.

It does not look like a GM part number.

Trust me. It is not a old z28 part. They never had anything this advanced. Lol.

I talked to GM Partech today, asked them if it was the right bracket for a ZL1.Explained that a customer was modifing their 2010 rear cover to a ZL1, and was worried the bracket was not correct. The agent tolded me the bracket for some strange reason has Z28 casted in part. When I questioned if for a future model, was told Z28 was a bin location at the supplier. Sure it is!!!!!!!!!!!

The final name of the car was decided about 5 minutes before it was unveiled on stage. lol.
Well, really it was more like 5 weeks to be honest.

There was heated arguments over the name.
I'm glad that in the end they chose the right name.

This stamping may be an old die that just hadn't been corrected yet.
The bin location IS possible, but I highly doubt it.
