  • Next Camaro should run on natural gas?!!!

Wow, I think the next Camaro should run on compressed natural gas?!!! Forget electric...

Forget Oil... This Could Be the Biggest Story in Energy | StreetAuthority referral&utm_campaign=sa-ob-0911

You can convert any car to run on natural gas nowadays, it hasn't caught on because it's hard to find a station.

Yea, let's just use water instead -- problem solved.

and I don't think for one second that if we all switch to Natural Gas over Gasoline that there wouldn't suddenly be a reason to jack the price we pay...

It doesn't matter what it is... The people that have the means to do so will see an opportunity to profit and they will, excessively.

one problem I see with conversion... natural gas is not liquid right? so wouldn't you need to retrofit the storage and fuel delivery system in a gasoline burning car?

Anyway, natural gas is plentiful and it'd be great to see more cars using that instead of using complicated and expensive battery systems. I'm not a fan of hybrids. Diesel, hydrogen, yes. But huge battery packs have always seemed like a stupid idea. Just another thing to maintain...

            ^ There are two options:

            1. "By chilling natural gas to -260 degrees Fahrenheit, production companies can liquefy and compact the energy source, making it economically feasible to ship large quantities overseas."

            2. "Compressed natural gas (CNG) transportation fuel -- which is about $2 cheaper per gallon than ordinary gas or diesel at the pump."
