  • What you all think? (Wheel idea)

So I have been toying with the idea of carrying the 45th AE theme onto my wheels. I posted on C5 asking someone to do a photo shop of my idea. This is what I was given. I really like it.

What do you all think? I know the wheel doesn't match the CFM exactly but it will if I do this.

      Looks good, I like it!

Looks like a lot of different color shading which looks like it would be hard to do (costly). Maybe not for a pro like Pete.

I don't think Pete can powder coat wheels, but I have a guy who does powder coating, I don't know if you will get shading and stuff like that, but you can't paint wheels if you want them to last. I've had my wheels powder coated for 2 seasons and not even a single nick in them. Pm me for more details.

Pete doesn't do powercoating, I was at his shop today picking up some stuff he did for me. I bought a set of Brembos that I am going to have powercoated and he said he can only do paint.

Nice color combo on the wheel, but I think you'll find it's going to cost a fortune to have that done. I was thinking of chroming my 20s but less than $500 more I can get a Forgeline F14 that looks better and weighs less. I can then sell my OE wheels and recover the cost. Also gives me the chance to move to a wider wheel.

This is exactly what I've been thinking.

FYI: I had a guy quote me $600 for painting my wheels, which included masking, but, it was only one color. Powder coat, even with masking, was less.

You could do it in vinyl.

I don't think vinyl on wheels would last very long.

It doesn't unless you hand wash VERY carefully and NEVER take it thru automatic washes.... I have decals on my center caps and have to be VERY careful when washing

I think it is a great design concept, but I think the real thing might look too busy. Maybe just do the design on one spoke each wheel.
