  • Used car suggestion for co-worker

    Ok.. here's the criteria.

A co-worker is looking for a replacement car. Her hubby got in a wreck and totaled one of their cars. They're not looking for a note, so it will need to fit within the range of the dollar amount below.

    ~10,000.00
    1-2 yrs old
    Fuel sipper
good cargo room in trunk (including fold down rear seats if present)
    no trucks/suv/mpv, etc.
    comfy for someone that's 6'3"
    reliable
    easy/cheap to repair

will see mostly city driving for daily use.

    any ideas?

Might Also be able to snag a focus in that price range, too. Not my cup of tea, but seem OK

My mom has an Aveo. Basic and cheap, and, I think there is a hatch version for more flexibility.

2010 cobalt I think would be the best bet. Larger then both the sonic, aveo and focus.

The trunk and comfy for someone 6ft3 is hard to find in that price range.

your best bet for that price range is a small hatch back. For that price I'd consider a car that's 3 years old for more space though. the Cobalt is definitely in that price range, so are cars like the Nissan Versa and the Chevy Aveo. I haven't been in a Versa myself but I remember a commercial advertising the leg room in it. So its front seat may go back further than other sub-compacts.
