  • if you had to...

I know this goes against a lot of peoples opinions. However, if you had to go to an automatic car wash or a car wash place where would you go? I know I can get free car washes from the dealer but i don't know if I trust there car wash.

That question does not compute. Suck it up and wash it yourself or have it washed.

Steve, you want to go to Delta Sonic. Imo the difference between a hand wash & a touchless car wash is WAX. When you have it hand washed no wax=surface scratches. And you must invest in microfiber cloths to dry it. Don't them them use their towels. This is what I do & have a black car so you can inspect it tomorrow & be your own judge
*to anyone thinking of commenting* Steve said PG! Hehehe jk

Go to one of those DIY places later at night or early morning when they're not busy and bucket/hand wash yourself. They won't say anything if your not making anyone wait. Or pay to have it hand washed.

I usually wash it myself. below 32 degrees, I'll use a touchless wash by my house and pull it in the garage to touch it up

Delta Sonic's still have them chamois finger things, I don't like 'em. When it's too cold out here like it is, yes, touchless all the way. - I typically go through the washes at what used to be Gas City, now Speedway. They seem to do a better job than the touchless ones at the Super Suds places that have the DIY Washes. I do use the DIY washes if it warms up enough. Otherwise, the handwash place I use is in Roselle, on Irving Park rd., Perfect Auto Finish.

I take my baby to sudsational hand car wash on Ogden ave in downers grove and wise hand car wash on wise ave in Schaumburg. sudsational 1, wise 2 best hand car washes in Chicago as far. I'm concerned
They pull out new wash cloths when show up and only dry with micro and shamie

I put on nitrile gloves and wash it outside myself. I use hot water, it cools by the time I'm finished with the wheels. Did that 2 weeks ago in fact. The car is put away for the winter now, but if it wasn't, I would use a self service place. These cars get scratches just from looking at them, at least mine does!

I use a local hand wash place - Emperial Car Wash here is South Holland.
$14 for complete inside and out service, and they do an awesome job!
Takes about 20-30 minutes, but they're right next to a food joint called Andy's Grill, so I just plan to go have a sandwich while my car is being washed. Works out nicely.

I've got a black one too and will only use Delta Sonic (at 59 & North Aurora). I bought my Camaro from a salesman who used to be manager there. Said they really are the best in keeping their pads clean to prevent scratches. Since my Camaro is my all season car, I use the $13/month unlimited washes to keep the salt off. I've been very happy with them. I never let the guys there wipe my car down. They don't used micr-fiber towels. I just smile, wave and keep on going to go wipe it down myself! Haven't had scratching and it is all about the wax! I still use self-serve washes when I have the time (or the temp isn't frigid!)
