Not sure what's hard to read, I am pretty consistent with my views. Just heard of the latest ban and the leader of that charge is in the group going this weekend, thus me not wanting to roll with the group. I am good with 95% of the members here, its just a handful that drive me nuts.
Your founder is gone, most of the founding members, who laid the ground work for this club, are gone too. People get banned for facebook comments, certain board members ban others for comments that they themselves instigated, an attempt was made to ban the founder (and owner of the website, that was smart), posts get deleted left and right by those on power trips (I am sure this will be deleted shortly) and its all out war about a fast list for all the wrong reasons (should have 2 rules, 5th gen and a slip, that's it). Heck, there's pouting in this thread here. In between its mindless banter about sir toast and rubber duck.
I still love my car and will take great joy beating up on these vettes, but when 75% of all posts come from three people on a daily basis about nothing, I don't see the point of spending any time on this site, and certainly do not want to spend any of my own time with the new sheriffs in town. I am still going to the track Saturday because my kids are excited about it, but those going with the ban hammers have soured me a away from the group.
Hope you can read me now (although better read it quick before mr. delete finds this).
Its unfortunate that some things have happened the way that they have, but you're certainly entitled to your views. I hope you can see that there has at least been some changes since some of the things went down that you point to as issues (mass post thread deletions, etc) Might there be some things that still need to be ironed out? Absolutely, I am sure there are.
I don't know what information you are getting about bans, etc, but if you do really have a problem with things that you perceive to be going on, I don't understand why you leave snarky comments in your posts, rather than contacting a co-chair or other admin? I think it's this that has given some other members the wrong impression of you. Shoot, I know you love your car, and at least at some point, the club, so please don't think I'm attacking that, by any means.
In addition, I have tried calling a few people to have a one on one conversation rather then airing dirty laundry on the website, but when people dont answer their phones its hard to explain things rationally. I sure get disappointed when I see all the negativity on the site. We all work too hard for that as a club.

Collin. No attack was taken. There are issues that you probably don't know about. It hasn't been plastered on the site. I am a smart ass, thus the comments. I don't really care what others think of me, so i usually don't hold back words. I will now contact the board member that I have issue with and give her a piece of my mind. Thanks for the encouragement.

Bill, lose my number.
Tony please delete my cell from the member contact page. I am not a member and can't delete it myself.

Oh great, blame me for the encouragement!
I am sure there are things going on that many don't know of, and that's going to happen, and it is indeed best that those things get handled without airing it on the site. But to that end, not sure how much it helps to call out those in charge over those things when not everyone on the site knows what is going on on. - it seems to, at this point, only create more hostility. Hopefully we can all get along, eventually, but I'm not naive enough to think that will ever totally happen, but I look forward to future events, seeing you around

I have extended that courtesy to you. You have yet to pick up the phone bill.
just a suggestion, but if everybody would spend less time on the site maybe there be less @#$%.... just sayin...too much hatin going on might be a reason why someone would want to stay an associate instead of a member...doesn't look good if u ask me

Since I have a decade of working in politics, perhaps I can shed some light on the matter (s). Every decision (vote) that is made will generally have this outcome as you see it now. Most people will agree (thus the decision in the first place) and there will be some who do not. Out of those who do not, some will remain quiet, others will voice an opinion and a select few will raise holy hell about it. The latter being of greatest concern as these folks will lash out at every opportunity.
Regular members don't care to know what goes on behind closed doors. They just want to be in the club, and there is nothing wrong with that. They are here for fun. My opinion is the same as toasty's. A PM would have been the better route here but what's done is done. Saying "give her a piece of my mind" would probably be better received in a rational one on one conversation simply expressing your concerns. That way, the one on the receiving end is not so quick to immediately jump to the defensive position and be more receptive to a resolution.
When any good decision is made, it needs to be done without emotion. If you were indifferent or dislike the person in question, would your plight be any different? It shouldn't be. Taking emotions out the the equation makes certain that the decision is good for the club/community as a whole. It's takes out the bias.

As far as comments are concerned, I am probably one of the biggest smarta$$es I know. However, I do have to take into consideration who I am talking to. For instance:
If Toasty said "giver her a piece of my mind"
I might say... Not too big now... nobody is sure how many pieces you have given out already
Since you said the comment, I wouldn't respond in that matter because I don't know you well enough to be that sarcastic about it. I DON'T know how you would take it.
*further to add**
Everyone will never get along with everyone else. That will never happen as Toasty also said. What we can hope for is to all get along enough as to not look like a Jerry Springer Show at events and represent the club in a professional manner. To get along enough as to not miss an event because someone else might be there. We are all grown adults and we all should act like such. We want the club to thrive and not dwindle down to nothing because of petty fights.

Ruthie, So far I have not felt the need to call you, as far as I know, we haven't had any conflict or issues. I thought I made it clear that I appreciate the difficult decisions Board Members have to make. It's not an easy job. you are all doing a GREAT JOB? and I'm always here for anyone in the club. I always answer my phone unless I'm sleeping or standing in front of a Judge. LOL
