  • First time driving a manual

So I went out in my cousins car (99 accord) and we went to a parking lot and went over a few things. I got in the driver seat and a Lil rocky but didn't stall. Set up an imagInary road and I'd get up to 30 and then stop at a stop sign lol. Things went good. Got out on the road at one stop sign I got anxious with all the cars and stalled it. Don't know how I would like driving manual that often. I know it will get easier as I drive but still not sure.......

How big of a difference would the camaro feel?

I'm kind of worried about the fact that im still new. What if I stall the car or accidentally pop the clutch.... How would the salesman act lol

How do you feel about stick in the long run? Are you confident in your ability to quickly learn stick to correctly and safely operate the car?

95% confident I can do it correctly and safely with a little more practice. But i obviously need more practice and it sounds like an accord or a jetta (the only access to manual I have) will do me any good.

My salesman didn't even know how to drive a stick. I've driven a stick in 4 cyl cars for years, and I still had trouble with the clutch at first. I went for a test drive at another dealer on a track before buying, so it took me 15 minutes to finally get the Camaro clutch down. The embarrassing part was my wife was better at it than I was. She caught on right away.

I love my manual. I just like the feeling of being in control of the car. Has nothing to do with pros/cons of auto vs. manual. It's just the feeling it gives when I drive it.

It was definitely an interesting feeling shifting the gear and putting the clutch in. Once the car was moving it was easy to keep it moving.

Biggest concerns i have is starting from a stop. Or having that A hole pull up right on my bumper the 2nd day of having the car on and inclined red light.

As stated before, the LS3 doesn't break anymore than the l99, but surprisingly the only way he could drive Dan's car right now is if he owns a flatbed.

I love my auto because when I want to play with it I can just use tapshift. And I have put 32000 miles on it since July of 2010. Bought the first 2011 out of Phillips Chevy

The clutch in the Camaro is really different from the last manual I drove as a DD. It has maybe 3 inches of functional travel.

i have a 68 corvette 4 speed car that i drive all the time . When i got my camaro i hopped in and promptly stalled it . Clutch in this car is a total different feel to any other stick i drove . You get use to it . I drive my camaro hard . i think that i turn traction control and stability control off everytime i drive cause you just never know when that urge to snag second gear and twist the back end will occurr. LOL
Man that really sucks...........but that's the coolest thing I've ever seen
