if you find THE ONE and get me the VIN i will pull the invoice for you... but i cant go annoying my sales manager for 5 or so different vehicles. i can then coach you on what to take as a realistic deal and what is fair for your trade.

but then when you buy it you MUST become a member... you will be
    assimilated.

Racing is my life, everything else is just minor details.

What town do you live in? Do you know exactly which model Camaro you want? I mean down to the last detail? You need to know exactly what you want & don't want, so you know what you want & what if anything your willing to move on. For me, I knew EXACTLY what I wanted. Chevy/GM had (I believe they still do) a car locator. I tracked down my car (because they are suppose to trade w/other GM dealers but no one did) went to the 2 dealers & the 1st one wouldn't give me what I wanted for my trade. So the 2nd dealer said we want your business, we don't want to make this a bad experience & they asked me what would it take to earn my business (which is a popular sales question) I told them my numbers & they said done! After the deal was signed & done I was walking out the door the finance manager stopped me & asked if owned my trade in, I said yes. He told me GM has a loyalty program-i was trading in a Firebird(GM product but division closed, it includes saturn too) I got $1,000 rebate. So rewrote the deal & was an even happier camper. Lol. I hope this helps-i would be happy to help you, let me know. I would give CamaroScotty a call & explain your situation. Give him a chance to make you an offer. Also, Bubble works for GM, she might have more current info & suggestions for you

The only thing i haven't figured out is auto/manual or color.

My ideal car would be the 45th anniversary 2ss.
Leather, heated seats are high on the priority list
sunroof is optional (i love sunroofs but I think the camaro looks cleaner without one)

The automatic vs manual debate gives me a headache every day. I have never owned let alone drove a manual transmission. Everyone says Ill love it when I do but I dont want to hate it and have a car I don't like driving.

My uncle is taking me out in his car this week to get a feeling of a manual trans.

Oh and I live in Glendale Heights.

for those who work in a dealership, I don't know what exactly you do there. If i took my G8 in with the long tube headers and told them I'm taking the headers off this weekend. Just wanted a rough Idea, will that effect my trade in value if I just wait and bring it in without the headers?

My 2 cents would be to stay out of cook county when you buy... That alone will save you money with taxes!

                    My .02...

If you're ever going to want to seriously drag race the car.. Get an auto now.. It's much less involved going L99 to LS3 for better performance, than it is going M6 to A6 for the same reasons.

I can't help you with the Auto/Manual on the other terms as it's a very personalized choice.

Leather and Heated seats aren't hard to come by, just get the right trim level.

These cars aren't hard to drive stick if you've never done it before... They're much more forgiving than older manuals.

Someone once told me that since I live in Dupage I would only have to pay dupage taxes. I didn't believe it but yes I am staying out of CROOK County

I will most likely run the camaro on the track a few times a year. I haven't been to the track tho in 5 years? When I had my last Camaro.

At the moment my plan for the car is CAI and exhaust. Going to keep the warranty as long as possible. Do a few show mods.

I want to drive a manual camaro bc I know cars differ from one to another. I'm going to be practicing on a 2003 VW Jetta. I have a feeling the two will be very different.

Edit: This car will NOT be my daily driver BTW. If my beater breaks down I will drive the Camaro for work etc but as long as everything stays good with it The camaro will just be for fun.

when trading in or selling to a dealership, get it as close to bone stock as you can... any added eq on a vehicle is seen as a libility and will only serve to drive down what they offer you. because not everyone wants a disco ball and pull out couch in the backseat or headers and subs

Then you have your answer on Auto/Manual already... Unless you're going to be shooting for 11s or faster, don't bother with Auto as it won't help you all that much over the stick -- assuming your ability to launch is good. For only a few track outings a year, I don't feel it would make much sense to get Auto for that reason --- Now if you want one, because you want one, then go for it... but, it seems like you're leaning stick.
