The only thing I can think of was they didnt see me slow down while I was trying to make a turn. I saw the headlights get close fast so instead of making my turn I stepped on the gas to go forward to avoid getting rear ended. Other than that I did nothing else to provoke anything.

wow man, I am sorry that happened. Gang bangers tend to do crap in groups, hence why they're in a gang... I had 3 guys come up and try to start a fight with me in Lincoln park a few years back. One guy sucker punched me in the face when I was looking at the other guy displaying what I thought was a gun in his pants... Yeah... I thought I was going to die that day, all because they drove by and hit on my girlfriend at the time and I made a joke about it that they heard. So they pulled over and got out the car and the rest is well, history.... I am glad you're ok seriously.
