  • Where did you buy your Camaro?

I'm in the early stages of Camaro shopping, and wondering where everybody bought theirs. I've read really good things over on Camaro5 about CamaroScotty up in Wisconsin, but wondered about more local Chicagoland dealers. Any problems getting test drives?

I got mine at Castle Chevy. Jeff is a great guy and no BS. He gets excited about your car as much as you and tracks it the whole way. I highly recomend Jeff and Castle.

Edit: They have a bunch of 1&2LT/RS's and one 2SS/RS in stock. They even have an ABM there. Shouldn't be any problem with test driving, just say you know me. I bought two cars from them in 9 months.

I got mine at Ron Westphal in Oswego. I walked in with financing already done thru my credit union, title and reg. in AK so no sales tax, and no trade in, so to them it was a cash deal. I offered $500 under MSRP no negotiations and they took it. In and out in 2 hrs. Test drive once they had the letter on intent from the credit union in hand.

Wouldn't' necessarily recommend them, shitty service dept. and sales is mediocre at best. They had the car I wanted thats the only reason I went with them. Gjovik in Sandwich had 4 SS and 3 RS Camaros in stock at the end on Dec, small dealership and nice sales folks (they were professional and courteous to my wife which was a big plus). Heard good things about their service too but can't comment first hand. If I was looking right now tho I would personally look there as they are close.

        Best of luck!

I went to Ron Westphal in Oswego and they had no problem in letting me test drive an SS. The salesman was nice enough but I was looking for a special order SLP model and they didn't know much about it. Be cautious though as they were asking +$8k over MSRP for "Chicago Area Market Adjustment"!! I hope no one pays this. I ended up locating my car in Toledo, OH at Dunn Chevrolet and so far I can't say enough about them. Pricing was less than MSRP and the salesman has followed through on everything he has promised so far. I pick it up on Wednesday:smirk:

Sorry, no experience with advantage group.

Also bought mine at Castle. I have no paitence tho so got the 1LT back in May 09. Maybe in a couple years get my son to buy this one and get the V-8. Castle has great service. Joy in the service department works hard for you.

We also bought ours at Phillips chevy in frankfort. Jaime birks was our salesperson and she was awesome. She knew and listened to everything we wanted and was as excited as we were when our car finally came in.

Bought mine at Woodfield Chevy. Aside from not having a premium on the car they sucked. At least the saleswoman I had. SHe NEVER returned my calls and had a defective stripe and it took over a month to repair. Horrible customer service.

Everything you heard about CamaroScotty on Camaro5 is true. Even though we live in Tinley Park, we drove up to his dealership and ordered a Camaro RS in October and it was built and ready to be picked up after Thanksgiving. Great and knowledgable guy.

got mine at Bill Kay Chevy in Lisle, IL. Has a great service dept. (free car washes every sat) Toasty to answer your question my dad has long been a customer of Advantage Chevy in Countryside, IL. We went to go get my Camaro in July. Through the past 10 years my dad had gotten 4 or more cars from there. We went and they wouldn't take the dealer markup of $10,000. After an hour or so they went to $5000 markup. At that moment we left. Got my dream car (Victory Red 2SS/RS) the very next day at Bill Kay at MSRP.
