  • Outside housing for Camaros

So who else around here is forced to leave their baby outside all year long? My dads vette, new truck and moms Acadia get the garage. My car and my brothers Infiniti G37X are forced out into the blazing hot summer and freezing cold winter. Any tips on keeping her safe?

Depending on the space, you could have a location for a canopy or a clear span tent. These have become fairly popular and cost effective. I know it's not a garage, but it could help keep some of the weather off the cars!

ok i had one of the 79.99 car ports for my old mustang.... one night it snowed a foot in a little over 2 hours.. it collapsed on the mustang.. thankfully not much damage... i do not reccomend this one being the amounts of snow we get..

i recently bought a round top one that is wayyyy stronger than the old one.. every bar is bolted together and it as i said before is a round top.. we are 99% sure that any snow will slide off the top and down the sides.. now however i do reccomend having more than 2 people for the putting together of this one... it will reduce swearing an arguing lol this is the one i got... pricey but worth it..

and a few pictures of mine in it.. (pardon they are nighttime cell phone pictures)

also for lighting we hooked up a light in the back end and also put rope lights along the sides for added lights. we also added a rope like system to pull up the door so i can pull in and out of it.

That's exactly what I had last winter. It even held up against all that freaking snow we had in feb!

Yes those car tents/ports look GREAT. for the price of what it costs to keep paint finishes up, I don't see how you could ever go wrong in spending 200-400 for one of those. If I get another car that I like, that's what I am doing cause I only got a two car garage and three cars, LOL. There's days in the winter that I would like my third car in something like that.

Look at you being all fancy. No, but seriously that was a great buy for your car. I am really glad you decided to get a home for the car.

I would definitely put the money down for one of those.... too bad our neighborhood is one of those snooty places where we can't have one...

well then i would suggest the next best thing..... if your going to have to leave it outside... get a very good car cover made for your camaro.... but make sure it and the car is CLEAN before you put it on the car.. if you go that route i would suggest leaving it off unless you hear its going to snow or sleet because otherwise youll be washing salt off every night so it doesnt scratch.. thats if its a daily driver... if it is not a daily then id suggest a camaro car cover and a very large heavy duty tarp to cover that... because lets be real here.. nothing is 100% waterproof all the time especially where we live with the snow we get.. the tarp will hopefully keep everything under it dry... but then id also suggest on the "nice" days through out the winter take the cover off let her see the sun for a while, warm up her fenders etc and make sure it is in fact dry under the car cover so you dont get any future paint or rust issues as well as rodent problems on the engine cover... good luck!

It is a daily driver for me, Garret from Deerfield tire is going to be hooking me up with actual snow tires this winter instead of me driving around with my P zeros this winter hahaha. Any specific covers you guys know of?
