  • Almost diaster for the Camaro

Had the Camaro out Saturday, only because my other car had antifreeze leaking and I had to go out. This was the first time it seen salt.
I was coming home from my event with my wife, traveling down 294 north from Plainfield. I was behind a old van going about 60 MPH, wet roads, when I notice sparks coming from the front of the Van. So I slowed down, did not want to pass him and it was a good thing I didn't. All of a sudden the Van starts to slow down. So I stopped behind the Van. Well it is a good thing I did not go around him because his driver front fender comes apart and the front driver wheel comes flying off the Van across two lanes of traffic. Luckly there was no cars coming in those lanes and no one behind me.
So sad part is my car is in the garage full of salt for the first time this year.
My other car at the dealer getting a new water pump installed.

    Man, you got lucky!

Keep in mind, unless you car was built in the summer, it's already seen snow and salt in Oshawa.

Wow, reminds me of driving 290 towards 53 N a few yrs back when a tire came rolling down the hill off the side of an overpass, comes down into the little valley and launches into the air and lands on some guys hood who was going 50+ mph! Luckily no accidents. Close call!
