I am going to do a very temporary install for some photographs, and then take it off after court.

Perhaps you could also suggest that you had to have it off because of the paintwork you had done, and hadn't put it back on yet...

yeah, I wish I could say the same... Dumb Des Plaines policemen have nothing better to do than cruise parking lots looking for missing license plates (got 3 of my co workers already, and tried to get me, until he realized i still had a temp tag at the time!) AND....they ticket for the "illegal plate covers" i.e. plastic CLEAR plate covers....

That's what I told the cop who pulled me over. He was also hassling me about my tints which are 35% all around. I think he was just having a bad day.

just tell them that you were doing your part to go green and trying to get the best gas mileage out of your car by cutting down on air resistance and your contribution to the federal MPH standards and Pollution standards is Federal which trumps state law, Yeah that's it!! I'm gonna use that in court next time, you can't have a state law that interferes with a Federal mandate!!

... i didnt want one of them hideaway plates, at lest not any that I have seen, don't want to drill to install it, either

Government is best which governs least. No front plate is a no-brainer...

Marc " Camaro Lover " has a pretty cool remote control front plate set up. Maybe he can make a video and post how it works. I am with Dan also, No way in Hell I'm putting a front plate on. I have a friend that has a Vette and a Ferrari and he gave me a copy of the law that says how many inches from the ground and that it has to be in a fixed position, etc. Short version, I put the plate on my passenger side visor and flip it down when parked. He has beaten every ticket that way and knock on wood I have not been hassled yet.
