  • Winter washing

Has anyone seen any touchless carwashes that have some sort of monthly pass for a certain number/unlimited washing? Those of us that are driving our babies in the winter need a good deal on a decent wash!

    Colin,

I go to Gas City at 95th and 59. There is a car wash there that is touch free

When I need a quick car wash during the summer this place is great. I have even met other Camaro drivers here. Even their "Basic Wash" is great.

Yeah, I figured that the Gas City would be a decent option. May not get sparking clean, but should get the worst of it. not bad for what, 3 bucks? and if you splurge, their special wash in the winter runs the soap 2x to get more stuff off. Could pair that with a good occasional hand wash from the place I use up in Roselle.

Not sure where you're at Toasty, but there are a few up here in the Northwest suburbs. I've got a guy in Northbrook that does hand washing and you can buy a package deal, but that will run a little more.

Northlake is a bit out of the way, but heck I drive from Bolingbrook to Des Plaines every day of the work week, so it's really not that much out of the way.

Our daughter is moving to Chicago this weekend and ours got caught in the rain while we were getting her things out of our garage. Dave was so mad but I looked at it as a free car wash. It was a bit hard to dry because it was so cold and our garage is not heated but she didn't melt.

Toasty, Delta Sonic seems to have a special deal going on now for $12.99/month, unlimited washes. It's not touchless though as they have the long chamois-like strips that drag over you car. I know one is located in Naperville/Aurora on 59 and another in Westmont on Ogden.

There is a gas city with touchless car wash on Weber rd just off I-55, I use them often and it does a pretty good job, only thing is that the blow dryer is too freaking strong it blew off my driver side mirror glass

I've used that one a time or two. ... bonus part of the Gas City washes in the winter? Heated water!

I need a good cheap solution along the route 14 corridor. I am in that area the most. I am afraid not to do touch-less. Also, you know those car snow brushes, those will scratch the paint won't they? The winter is scary!

Yeah, I only use the brush on the windows... the rest can blow off!

Step 1: Get a garden hose.
Step 2: Pull all cars out of your garage.
Step 3: Turn on industrial heater in garage.
Step 4: Hook up garden hose to warm sink water :-)
                            Step 5: Wash car.

Its nice having a dad as a mechanic and being in a heated garage. Granted I don't drive my Camaro in the winter, but the last time I washed it, it was too cold to use regular water. So I did it in my garage!

I have too many power tools for a hose in the garage.
