I snuck mine out this morning to head to Northbrook for a Dr.'s appointment. It was cold but the sun was out so I couldn't resist. Once the tires warmed up on the highway I just had to let her loose . Man I am going to miss her this winter .

6am today, pretty much unplowed roads, 27 miles back roads to work. 1.15 hours. Normally takes me 45 mins. No problems. Drives like it was meant for snow. However, the drop I did this summer seems to have made my wheel wells fill up quick, didn't really think about that part till now. Ha, all good though.

I've got the same, but in the 18's -- Didn't get to try them out in the snow though, wasn't out of the house until after streets were cleared. Good to hear reaffirmation that I made the right choice in tires though.

the 18's, I got for right at $600, including mount, balance, and free rotation (get the winter set swapped on/off for free)

Not sure what I paid. Got the 18" hertitage and pireli s/I at same time last year. Think I paid full price for the rims though, got from the dealer, now you can buy them every where. But my moto is, "if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it." ha. My wfe doesn't feel the same way about that.

Oh god, I hear ya. When I just put them back on this year they looked new. They still had the little rubber things sticking out on the side. Not sure what you call them. And I drove on them last winter from Nov till April.

That just means that you were successful in staying away from curbs!!!

I was curious so I had to look it up. The protrusions on new tires are called "sprue nubs". A sprue is the channel in which the rubber is injected into the tire mold and the nub is the left over.

Ha, sprue nubs. Maybe I should have known this. My father was an engineer at Chicago Rawhide and patented mass production mold machines. In fact, one on his achievements was to eliminate the nubs once the piece was made. Ha, look it up. "oil seals" "Jerry Reichenbach"
