  • handheld tuners

Ok so i put my car on the dyno today. I got 322 rwhp and 340 torque but i am running pretty rich.

The guy at benchmark said he suggests getting a handheld tuner to fix this and that most likly it would not void the warrenty as long as the dealer cant prove that a problem was caused by the tune.

Has anyone on here used one/using one? The benchmark guy suggested diablosport

I have a diablosport predator tuner on my lightning, the canned tunes are pretty good if you are stock or with just a intake and exhaust, I would not trust the canned tunes that come with the tuner if you got any more mods than that, I would recommend a custom tune.

As for the warranty issues, the hand held tuners do leave a trace that the dealers are able to find if they want to denied a repair, even if you put the stock tune back on the car, and speaking of that, don't loose or break your tuner if you have one of the predator tunes loaded in the car and the stock tune stored on the predator, it's no fun trying to get a stock tune from the dealer/factory they don't like when we mess with their precious stock tunes, don't ask me how I know.

some dealers are OK and don't care, all they want is the warranty repair money from the factory and look the other way if they see that you had a tune other than the factory one, got to find out if your dealer is one of this good dealers.

BTW need top fix your signature it says "running too lean" instead of too rich LOL

One thing to take note of, anytime you bring your car in for service the dealership logs into your PCM and sends the data directly to GM.

That info is held by GM in the event of a warranty dispute, if you've done anything to the factory PCM and or tune they will most likely void any powertrain claim. As they say, if you wanna play, you gotta pay.

I've got the SCT x3 tuner from Jannetty Racing and it has definitely opened up the engine a ton! When you buy from Ted he'll give you a free custom tune with your purchase. I have the LS3 so the tune isn't as beneficial, but I've heard people say for a L99 a tune makes it a whole different car.

If you have any questions just ask!
