  • SYCK SS - Version 2.0 - build journal

Well I thought I would get started with a journal thread. I'll start with some background for some newer members...

I was lucky enough to have owned SYCK SS... a 2010 camaro SS that I owned for 5+ years.. that I had to sell due to a divorce.

Along my journey with her, I did a ton of performance mods including a built forged motor and twin turbo setup... and then some. I was the quickest and fastest paying member for a long time. Not sure if I still hold it or not.

During my absence I picked up a 2016 mustang gt that I twin turbod as well... that being said it never felt right. So I took advantage of an opportunity given to me to pick up a camaro yet again.

Everyone meet SYCK SS Version 2.0... it's been awhile since I have "built" a camaro so I'm taking some extra steps to make her extra special. So I will do my best to keep this thread updated as I progress with this build.

Figured 400 miles was enough break in time. Decided to hit the track with her and get some base line numbers.

If anyone was wondering... OEM tires suck. Lol.

Overall not too bad. Hot lapped her 7 times to try and keep tires at a good traction temp. But track was horrible. She ran five 12.8 passes though. Overall best time being...

                        12.81 @ 113.75mph - 2.24 60ft

I am pretty impressed by this. If I can get some sticky tires that means I can pull off an 11 second run being stock.

Sooo the hunt for traction begins...

Made another trip out. Was able to pick up 0.1 but still spinning hard.

Looks like tires will be one of my first mods.

Nice. Shouldn't be hard to get some more grip by ditching the run-flats

Totally agree. I do like these tires better then the pirellis. But not drag race worthy at all.

Just trying to decide if I should do 20" radials or bite the bullet and do welds lol
