    I understand that you should change it at around five years as it goes acidic.

      Yeah that's what I was reading too. Guess I better get on it ; last time was December of 2010 so I am 6 months overdue .

        Bill, just because you're already "down there" i would also recommend replacing your thermostat as well (along with new gaskets too). Since this will have to be replaced with the coolant drained, might as well throw in a 160* stat

        I'm not sure if you plan on doing all of this yourself, or taking it to a shop. Like Tony said, it's the age of the coolant that will start to deteriorate.

          Just had it done. thermostat is a good idea but it's a little late now dang it.

                I would only run 160 stat if you are supercharged or drag race a lot. I have one.
