They are terrible!! I had asked as there was another vert there when I was there. The service guy asked to take a pic of my rims as his client was looking. I told him it was ok as long as his client didn't get the same ones!! I was there for an issue with the weatherstripping on the top. I've had it in twice. They had to order it again and never called. I finally called them but it's too late!! Mine was put in storage last Friday. Do you have any issues with your top?

No issues with the top. I think?

One little thing... maybe? Is, that I have noticed a significant scratch where the top comes down to connect to the windshield frame. Where the "BOLT. Folding and Hard Top Front Rail" (part #21) attached to the "STRIKER. Folding and Hard Top Front Rail" (part #8). On the passenger side only. Like it is slightly misaligned? (you can see the parts diagram here: http://www.tonkinonlineparts.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=859629&ukey_produc t=6528300

I still have 18 months left on my original factory warranty.. so, I think I will see if I can get Chevrolet to take a look at it.

How about your top? Something happen?

Thankfully no issues with my top other than that rubber piece. I'll try to upload it later. My computer is having issues

Here's the piece I have an issue with. It should fold down but it twists up before it closes. Only on the drivers side. Passenger side stays folded down.

Thankfully, both of our issues seem relatively small in comparison to the overall benefits of owning a convertible! I will keep a close eye on all the mechanics of mine from here on out.

Um... I figured out the mysterious cause of the scratch. Someone lowered the top with the 'unlock' handle in the locked position. Mystery solved. Duh.

                  Confirmed Fray

Since reading your initial post & picture... I have done loads of reading on the Camaro5 website... specifically, all the issues related to convertible tops. Looks like there is much much more to owning a ragtop than in initially realized! Meeting Toasty&Tigger at the D&B meet was also really useful: Toasty confirmed I have a fray to address!

Ours had the little rubber stop issue too. When it was at the shop last week, they adjusted the top, and those no longer pop out of place, but I still have to deal with the rubbing mark on the top, so we'll see how it goes... warranty is up in May, and I don't know how long it is going to take to convince dealer and GM that the top needs to be replaced.

I'm on there too. You'll probably see my post about this as well. Fortunately, I don't have any fraying.

What did they do for your issue? They told me it was the weatherstripping. I went in twice for it. Once they didn't have the part and the second time they said the new part was defective. The third time they are too late and I'm not going back. Car is now in storage.

                          2012 45th SS2 Convertible M6

Good News? Visited Chevrolet of Naperville today to let them look closely at the "rub" marks on my top. I still have 10 months of warranty. They agreed I had possible defect (not just cosmetic wear and tear). But, they sent me to Riggs Brothers to get a second opinion. Said it would strengthen their case with Chevy. Riggs Bros took one look and concurred. Dealer is ordering me a brand new top. They use Riggs Bros to do all their tops. I'm encouraged that this will be all good; I read lots of good things about Riggs Bros on Camaro5. I'll keep you posted...

Riggs Brothers did our top replacement for Chevy of Naperville as well. Seems to be holding up well. Good luck!
