  • Rust!

To anyone that took delivery in 09, check your fenders!. GM rust policy is only for through -and-through holes. The sad part is, this is where the sheet metal is folded over and welded.

Tony: is that your car? Damn. This is disconcerting news. I wonder if this will eventually happen to all of us? Maybe just the DD's who have no choice but to brave the salt & slush over the winter. Damn. Did I say that already? It's worth saying again. Damn. [emoji52]

Yup. Seems way too early for that. Six years next month.

Checked mine and I'm good. Six years this month. Stays garaged during salt season though.

Tony, it's GM's way of convincing you to trade for a 6th Gen. Timing is everything!

Every new car I buy that's driven in the winter muck get's Ziebart rust proofing and undercoating. My 14 Silverado got it. I know some people don't believe in it but I had a 1996 Chevy Blazer with 120K miles last year and currently have a 2002 Buick both rust proofed and driven year round. Not one speck of rust or paint bubble on either vehicle.

I bought a new 2005 G6 and didn't get it rust proofed and the rockers started rusting out at 6 years. Better trade that DD at the 5 year mark.
