  • tire issue- leak

I seem to have a small leak in a back tire.. I can't seem to find it. Any tricks on finding it... I don't know of anywhere around me I trust to service it.

The way to find it is to take tire off and put tire in tank of water and look for leaks. Or you can sit there with a spray bottle of some slightly soapy water. Lay tire flat put some water where rim and tire meet to see if it's a rim leak. Spray in and around the valve area to see if it's a valve. And lastly spray every cut or hole in tread area till you see the bubbles. Then you know where it is. If it's anywhere near the shoulder of tire or in side of tire the tire is not repairable and needs replacement.
    Any questions just ask.

You can get a plastic kiddie pool at WalMart for less that $10. Then check your tire outside in the yard. Stay outta your tub. Spare the Mrs. [emoji51]

Even a large plastic tub. You only need about half the tire in at a time and rotate it around. While you look. I would stay out of the bathtub. A lot of clean up time with that. Better off with plastic tub or kiddie pool. Happy wife = Happy life!!
If you have to bring it in I would take it off car if you can. It will save you from them potentially messing up the lugnuts or the wheels in the removal process. Unfortunately not everyone shares our passion for our cars and takes the time to do it right.

Just spray on the soapy water first and look for the leak via bubbles, like the G-Man stated. If the soap makes consistant bubbles you have a leak.

Thanks all... fixed... No need for the pool so took it back. Once the tire was off the soap and water was easy to spot.. My ten year old seen it first. Took it to a local place and he patched it for free... I sent over a surprise pizza from Pizza Hut after tho

                  Thanks!
