  • Clutch Slipping - Looking for a shop

So apparently the clutches aren't so hot in a the V6 Camaro. Mine is slipping already and needs to be replaced. Any shops that will do a clutch replacement if I provide the clutch and flywheel? Looking for under 1k hopefully.

Clutches probably wouldn't be covered under warranty, anyway as a wear item... but if they were to be covered, they'd be under the 5 year/100K powertrain warranty...

You may find a shop to install your clutch but most likely they will not warranty any of it if you are bringing your own parts. Also unless the flywheel is grooved really bad they can be resurfaced like rotors. You will also need the throw out bearing. Good luck.

I am going to upgrade to a aftermarket clutch so I need to change the flywheel vs resurface. Is the throw out bearing guaranteed to need to be replaced? and does it matter if im going with an aftermarket clutch assembly? and or will a factory one work with an aftermarket clutch?
