  • Need Help....possibilly a body shop???

Just installed my new tailights, however the last bolt I was tightening, the small ratchet slipped out of my hand and went down into the body (thiers a lip under the tailight housing were it ends up in dead space). Any idea on how to get this out went under neath the car and nothing, even took the trunk panel off and nothing. Possible that i might have to go to a body shop to have the damn thing removed? Thanks

How about a magnet tool to lower in and try and grab it?

Get one of those flexible craftsman tools that has a claw at the end it's about two feet long and you can push the knob on the End of it and the claw opens up at the other end to grab it, works for me in those tough places. Or the magnet tool is good also.

If you can see it then a magnet might help but if not then either you will have to take the bumper loose or just wait for it to fall out... but then you lose the ratchet and it's possible that it is too big to fall out

It's likely in the rear fascia. Maybe Showstopper can chime in to say if anything short of pulling it off is possible.
